Using Metamucil helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels

The natural psyllium fibre in Metamucil, when taken as part of a low fat balanced diet, can help absorb the amount of blood cholesterol in your body, thereby helping you maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

NOTICE: Take this product with at least 250ml (a full glass) of liquid. Taking without enough liquid may cause choking. Do not take if you have difficulty swallowing.

Ingredients

Psyllium Husk Powder, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin, Aspartame, Malic Acid, Acesulfame Potassium, Mixed Berry Flavour, Allure Red AC CI 16035, Brilliant Blue FCF CI 42090.

Each 5.8g provides less than 5mg sodium.

As fibre therapy for regularity

Metamucil powders are effective in treating occasional constipation and restoring regularity. It contains a 100% natural, therapeutic fibre.

Psyllium Husk powder.

 

Directions

Put one dose into an empty glass. Mix this product (child or adult dose) with at least 250ml (a full glass) of water or your favourite drink. Stir briskly and drink straight away. If mixture thickens, add more liquid and stir. Taking this product without enough liquid may cause choking. See choking warning.

Adults 12 years and older: 6-11 years: Under 6 years:
1 and ½ level spoons. (1 spoon = 5mL medicinal measuring spoon.) To be taken 1 to three times daily. 1/2 adult dose in 250ml of liquid, up to 3 times daily. Consult a doctor.
 

Warnings

Choking
Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block your throat or oesophagus and may cause choking. Do not take this product if you have difficulty swallowing. If you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product, seek immediate medical attention.

Allergy alert

This product may cause allergic reaction in people sensitive to inhaled or ingested psyllium.

Ask a doctor before use if you have

  • A sudden change in bowel habits persisting for 2 weeks
  • Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or rectal bleeding

Stop use and ask a doctor if

  • Constipation lasts more than 7 days
  • Rectal bleeding occurs

These may be signs of a serious condition.
