Quick Homepage Pizza Dough

Preparation time: 20 minutes



Use this basic dough and method for all the pizza variations on the following pages—and for those you and your family create using favourite ingredients. To bake the pizza, layer dough with toppings and bake in a 235°C degree oven until crust is browned, 20 to 25 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2-2/3 tbsp Fibresure
  • 1 package quick-rise yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup very warm water (120 to 130°F/49-54°C)
  • 2 tsp cornflour

Directions:

In large bowl, combine 2 cups (500 mL) flour, Fibresure, yeast, and salt. Stir in very warm water until blended and dough comes away from side of bowl.

Turn dough onto floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes, working in more flour (about 1/2 cup/125 mL) while kneading. Shape dough into a ball; cover with plastic wrap and let rest 10 minutes.

Grease 15-inch (38 cm) pizza pan; sprinkle with cornmeal. Pat dough onto bottom of pizza pan, shaping dough into 1/2-inch (1 cm) high rim at edge of pan.
