Southwest Burger
An exclusive recipe from Tanya Zuckerbrot, M.S., R.D., author of The F-Factor Diet! The Southwest flavours in this burger turn an old-fashioned favourite into a new and exciting dish!
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 450g lean ground beef
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 cup jarred spicy salsa
- 1/4 cup Fibresure
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsps pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
- 4 whole-wheat hamburger rolls
- Toppings: Sliced avocado and salsa
Directions:
In a bowl, combine the beef with the spices, salsa, Fibresure, salt, pepper, and coriander.
Form the beef mixture into four equal-size patties.
Heat a grill or frying pan and cook burgers until desired consistency.
Place burgers on a roll and top with avocado and salsa.
Serve.
